Press Release

The Canadian Forensic Nurses Association (CFNA) is profoundly saddened by the recent discovery of 215 unmarked graves of Indigenous children at the Kamloops Indian  Residential School, Kamloops B.C. and sends heartfelt condolences to the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation as they grieve their lost loved ones.

CFNA  further recognizes the impact of  intergenerational trauma for  all residential school survivors and their families,  fully supporting the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Final Report and Calls to Action recommendations as published in 2015.

CFNA firmly believes this devastating and horrific discovery needs to be addressed by all levels of government, religious entities, and Canadian citizens.
